Yuvia is a country in the Zendari world. Located in the Zhuvian Straight, Yuvia shares borders with the nations of Franova, Purple Country, Shairia, and Wallica. The Orina Mountains make up the whole northern border of the nation, stretching from coast to mid-land. This nation is known for their heavy exports of textiles and coal, which make up roughly 94.4% of all exports produced. Yuvia's current population is 72,930,433, according to the 2018 Zendari census. The primary language of Yuvia is a polyglot mix of Russian and Yuvian, however there are notable districts that speak Belarusian as the first language. It's capital is Alertia, which stands at a population of 3,862,402.

History

Yuvia currently is under ruling by president Miss Keisha (Мис' Киша), by Republic.

Pre-Iuvianskan Independence (1914-1962)

Yuvia was once a region in the Zotovan Republic; a super-nation which included the present-day areas of Wallica, Cyan, and Yuvia. The Zotova Republic held a strong regime, which included laws of code. These laws forced citizens to dress, act, and speak in a certain dialect to ensure that no citizen was differing from another. During this era, the standard of living for all around the Zotovan Republic was at a low, due to a lack of knowledge and soon to come; a famine.

The Great Starving (1963-1964)

During this period of time, a depression was going on in the Zotovan Republic. This led to a reduction in trade and cropping, since the economy went through an inflation. The leader at the time; Votron Bergsnovich (Вотрон Бергснович) had stepped back from power, leaving the people to suffer. There's an estimated death toll from this period of 1.2-1.5 Million. The effects of this period were huge, forcing families to move to cities in hope of food, and by causing dozens of riots in the capital of Hvorsgrad (Хворсград) at the time.

Iuvianska Independence Movement (1965-1969)

After the Great Starving, many individuals began to rebel and riot against the Zotovan government. Their main claim was a smaller cluster of nations would help increase trading and raise different economies. Iuvianska was one of the territories of the Zotovan Republic to increase the want for independence, but also the regions of Valika (modern-day Wallica) and Tsianovisk (modern-day Cyan). Protesters held rallies all around regional capitals, up until the point where it broke headlines all around the Zendari world. Major protesting massacres such as the Yelenovich (Еленович) attacks on 8 December 1968, was one under hot debate forcing nations in Zendari to keep their view on the Zotovan Republic.

Iuvianska Gains Independence (1971)

Finally, because of economic collapses all around the Zotovan Republic, on 17 March 1971 the government established a referendum on if they should've went through with splitting the nation. The referendum had a turnout of 96.7% of citizens having a say of yes. On 24 July 1971, with the assistance of other nations, two new countries were born from the ex-Zotovan Republic. These two nations were known as Iuvianska and Valika-Tsianovska. Iuvianska quickly switched their government to a constitutional monarchy in fear of another powerful regime taking control, and put Patricia Hodaksoviyana (Патриция Ходаксовияна) into power as the first ruler of the new nation. Independence also declared many different things, including assigning Alertia (Алертия) as the new capital of Iuvianska.

Rebuilding Iuvianska's Government (1971-1982)

During this period, Iuvianska had to build up their government from a previously debt-filled and depressive one. This took large amounts of effort and time to achieve, since most of the population remained below the poverty line, barely surviving. Also during this time, Iuvianska looked into expanding their armed forces, which grew at a rate of 35% surprisingly.

Leaving Depression, Valika-Tsianovska Migrations (1983-1987)

Eventually Iuvianska's government had stabilized, and trade and exports had resumed to normal. By this point, the poverty percentage went from 60.4% to only 20.1%. Cities all around the coasts grew in population greatly, including the port cities of Silkla and Sveta, which offered abundant jobs and cheap costs of living. Migrations from neighboring ex-Zotovan Valika-Tsianovska took a huge jump, and by the end of 1985, there was an estimated 1.7 million undocumented Valika-Tsianovskan immigrants. This was most likely due to the Valika-Tsianovskan government still going under a regime.

Iuvianska Changes to Yuvia (1996)

Signed by the Queen of Iuvianska on 24 June 1996, a bill came into effect where Iuvianska's name were to be switched to a shorter form of Yuvia. This was because of difficulties regarding the independent Iuvianskan nation, and the previous Iuvianskan region of the Zotovan Republic.

The Progressive Age, Modernism (1998-Present)

During this current phase, all aspects of the Yuvian government and standard of living improve. This includes of the second population boom in Yuvian history, going from 23.8 million to almost 29.4 million inhabitants. On 17 June 1999, previous queen Patricia Hodaksoviyana (Патриция Ходаксовияна) steps down from office, and her position was given to her only daughter, Anna Hodaksoviyana-Kovalchuk (Анна Ходаксовияна-Ковальчук). In 2002, the first ever smart technology was being created, and Yuvia is to-date one of the leading nations in Technology part exports, and offers the most technology-inducing employment opportunities compared to any nation in the Zendari world. This current age is often referred to as the 'Luxury age', since there are now approximately 204 millionaires per every 1,000 Yuvian citizens. Because of this, Yuvia places 3rd in the GDP per capita rankings, and 1st in the Human Development Index charts. Since the start of the Progressive Age, there has been over 405 skyscrapers built all over Yuvian cities, granted by the booming market and industries.

On 15 January 2018, the Yuvian government denounced the previous flag, which featured a two ended cyan tricolor, with a broken blue line in the middle. The legislative passed a new flag design, which "symbolizes the Yuvian culture and proud heritage more-so." The three feathers featured stans for the three outlooks on Yuvian society; peace, prosperity, and hope.

On 10 May 2018, caused by both a deteriorating government, and embargo sanctions by fellow neighbor nations, Yuvia was forced to sell off approximately one-fourth of their territories. This meant that the territories of Byc, Shtobo, Tolvai, Tsovak, Tsypri & Zyuid Tsovak were no longer part of the Yuvian nation. This action has caused outrage in these territories, creating protests all around the previous areas of Yuvia. Preceding this, Yuvia's population declined by almost 25%, as a total has dropped from 97,398,491, to a staggering low of 72,930,433. During these riots, the previous Yuvian president; Anna Kovalchuk, had decided to step down from her position. Miss Keisha was immediately appointed for replacement, being the previous vice-president. The effects of the sell-off are still present to date, as the Hungarian-speaking culture of Yuvia has almost diminished completely, with the language being withdrawn from educational curricular.

Laws

  • It is illegal to allow feet to be displayed in public, as it's deemed unruly and inappropriate to do so.
  • Non-lethal drugs (i.e Marijuana) are permitted, as long as the individual has a 'yellow card'.
  • Littering of any kind is a punishable offense, often leading to 1-2 years of community service. This is to preserve Yuvia's staple of clean communities and to promote recycling.
  • If parties plan to protest, they are obligated to protest in catered 'protest parks'. This is so protests cannot disrupt daily transportation and events.
  • The only domestic pets allowed in Yuvian households are cats. This is a common sense-based law, as any individuals with Yuvian descent have natural tendencies to be lethally allergic to dogs.
  • It is now illegal to remain a Yuvian citizen and reside in the previously Yuvian-Tsovak territories, because the lands are currently under heavy dispute.
  • The age of sexual consent of Yuvia is 16, as is the legal drinking age, with guardian consent.
  • The official legal drinking age of Yuvia is 18.
  • The legal driving age of Yuvia is 15, and the individual is required to have a drivers permit for a minimum of 6 months before receiving their license.
